Hero Manufacturing Machine - Volume 4 Succubus Sakyurama - Chapter 4

"Well, now that Sakyura's all dressed up."

I pause for a moment before continuing.

"Which do you prefer, a commoner's date or an adult date?" "A commoner's date or an adult date, you say?" Sakyurama looks confused.

"Just to be clear, even though I say an adult date, it's a wholesome date, okay? The sun is still high in the sky, and I'm not planning on playing all day, you know?" If there's a misunderstanding, I'll clear it up.

An adult date, like going to a slightly upscale restaurant.

"Please make it a normal date. This is my first time going out with a man, so suddenly going on an adult date is too intimidating."

"Oh, so this is your first date, Sakyura I thought with you being as cute as you are, you'd have some experience." She blushes and shakes her head. Yeah, she's so innocent and cute.

So that cute Sakyurama and I are currently dating.

"So, I am going to be Sakyura's first date. What an honor." I say with a smile.

"I'm really honored... that my first date.... is going to be... with Charles-sama..."

She says this to me, albeit with a faltering voice.

"Sakyura is really cute. Not only are you cute on the outside, but you're also super cute on the inside." I'm not just saying this to flatter her, I truly believe it.

"I mentioned it when the Sister was with us." "Yes." "I have to go back to the castle because I have my duties." "Yes."

"So, this is for when we take Sakyura to the orphanage first." "Hmm."

"I'm going to donate roughly the same amount as I gave to Sakyura today, for each girl."

"That's very much appreciated, but is that okay?"

"Since Sakyura dressed up, I want to give other girls some clothes as well, I want you to think of it that way."

"You said girls, but what about boys?" "There's something I want to talk to you about."

"Hmm?"

"Sorry, but this time I'd like you to come with me on my shopping trip. There's something I want to buy today." "Yes. If it's to accompany you, Charles-sama, I'll be happy to go anywhere!"

She answers with a big smile.

So, where did we head to? It was a clothing store that catered to the common people.

As I entered the store, someone called out to me. The voice was from a large middle-aged man.

"Isn't that Charles-boyo? He's brought along a pretty young lady today. That's rare." As he said, it was certainly not the kind of place that I would normally escort girls to.

It's a completely inappropriate place for a date. "You're calling the prince Charles-boyo... are you close?" "I'm on good terms with the owner of this shop. I've been a regular customer since I was a kid."

"That's right. I've known you since you were so little. You're like family to me." He says this while making a coin-sized circle with his fingers.

"I wasn't that small, no matter how you look at it." "I'm kidding. But when he was little, he was really short." "Well, I can't deny that."

"But it's surprising. I didn't know that Charles-sama would come to a store like this often..." Sakyurama commented while talking to the store owner.

"Well, as Sakyura said, the clothes I'm wearing right now are quite expensive." You could probably buy dozens of clothes here for the price of one of these.

"I was poor back then. Even cheap clothes were given to me with some freebies." "Well, I didn't want to do business so shady as to take money from a kid." The shopkeeper said this with an embarrassed look on his face.

"It wasn't as big a deal as you say. Well, I'd be grateful if you'd leave it at that."

"Since you're on friendly terms with Charles-sama, you must be a very kind person." "Kind? Stop it, I'm getting annoyed. I just pushed some clearance items on him for a small price."

"Well, let's leave it at that." "Boy!"

The shopkeeper seemed uncomfortable, so I changed the subject. "That's true, but the selection here isn't bad, is it? The prices are reasonable too. Well, because the owner is like that, there aren't many customers other than the regulars."

The shopkeeper's surly attitude isn't something that just started happening. Even so, he still treats me with a friendly attitude.

"That's why. Let me see the items." "There's no need to refuse. Just pick what you want." He was being purposely rude.

"I'll do just that, Sakyura." I called Sakyurama over and started picking out the clothes I wanted to buy.

"This is nice. It's a good deal too considering the price." I examine the price and quality, throwing anything that looks good into the basket. Sakyurama calls out to me after seeing me like that. "Um...Charles-sama." "What is it, Sakyura?"

"I was told that girls are picky when it comes to clothes, so it better to let them choose." "Ah." "Is it okay for boys to choose clothes so quickly?" "Oh, that's what you mean. It's fine, there's nothing wrong."

I stopped choosing and turned to Sakyurama. "I can assure you," "Hmm?"

"For boys of that age, quantity is more important than quality when it comes to clothes. That's for sure."

"It's true, as Charles-sama says, they get dirty or torn, and no matter how many clothes they have, it's not rare that they don't have enough." "Right?" "You understand that very well."

"I was a naughty boy myself. I used to get my clothes torn or dirty and get scolded by my mother." "I can't imagine that happening seeing Charles-sama now..." It's not surprising that Sakyurama says that.

Because of my current position, I usually wear good clothes and take great care of my appearance. No one would want to be embraced by a man who wears shabby clothes and doesn't care about his appearance. Breeding horses have their own troubles.

"So I'll buy them a bunch of affordable clothes. This should ease the load on the laundry staff a little." I literally stuffed a huge amount of clothes into several baskets. I took them to the store owner. "You're buying a lot today." "Well, that's because there are a lot of people."

"And there are a lot of children's clothes. You're that old now, aren't you?"

"Well, they aren't for my children, but I'm definitely that old." There is no prince my age who isn't married. As he said, it's not unusual for me to have small children.

"I bought a lot of these, so I think you know." "Yeah." "I'd like you to deliver this." "That's easy. Where should I deliver it to?" "The orphanage next to the church. You know where it is, right?"

"A donation, huh. I see that you can do such things naturally now. Well, I'm willing to learn from your footsteps."

The kind shopkeeper was offering me a discount. When I was short on cash, I used to take advantage of this kindness. "Thank you for the offer, but I'll have to decline."

"Why? If it's the same item, it's better to buy it cheaper."

"If I didn't have the money, it would be fine. However, I still make a decent living with this and can buy things at a reasonable price. Also, I shop in the castle town to help keep the economy going, even if it's just a little. I want to pay a fair price to people who do honest business." "That naughty boy has really grown up. If that's the case, I'll take it." So I paid the regular price. "Boy, doesn't this seem a little much?" "This is the delivery fee. I'm sorry if it's too little, but please accept it." "I'll take it then."

"Yes, we would be grateful if you could do that."

"This is an order for Charles-boyo. I'll deliver it quickly." "Yes, please." He may not be the friendliest, but he does his job well.

If the shopkeeper says so, he can't be wrong.

I left the store feeling relieved.
