My sister has become prettier recently. She was always beautiful to begin with, but it seems like she has become even more so. Even as her younger sister and a woman, I can't help but sigh at how beautiful my sister has become recently. Mother has also become calmer. She used to get emotional over small things, but lately I haven't seen that sort of behavior at all. She is showing the beauty and composure befitting the wife of the first prince. And it all started after that person returned. That person, Eucharlouch. Eucharlouch Bravelord. The tenth prince of the Kingdom of Braidea.
And the only active male hero in the Kingdom of Braidea.
Grandpa hasn't seen combat for a long time since he ascended to the throne, so he can't really be called "active", and although there are other princes, the oldest are only around ten years old and have not yet acquired the skills to qualify as a hero. He is about ten years younger than the ninth prince, Claude, so although he is mine and my sister's uncle by blood, there is not much difference in age between us. I think he is only a year or two older than my sister, and maybe three years older than me. I knew almost nothing about him before he returned. I would occasionally hear my mother say bad things about him.
Still, seeing his face from afar, I thought "He must be the kind of man my sister would like." He gave off an androgynous and calm impression, the complete opposite of our father, who was confident, masculine, and whom my sister didn't like. He ran away from home a few years ago and never returned to his country, the general public's opinion of him was that he was a "stupid prince who indulged in debauchery."
As for his accomplishments since returning, well...
He has achieved one feat after another worthy of the name "hero," such as managing to make the female knight, Iona Cucorose, who was famous for hating men, his disciple in just one night, defeating a keystone beast with fearsome powers on his own, and singlehandedly reclaiming the castle that had been taken by the empire. Of course, just because one is born into the lineage of a Hero does not mean one can unconditionally call oneself a "Hero". It goes without saying that someone who can call himself a "Hero" must have the appropriate abilities.
Even so, his abilities were far removed from the rumors. Next, I would like to talk about his personality. He is said to be too friendly to be called royalty. He is often seen chatting with shopkeepers and playing with children around town.
He also volunteers to treat injured people and takes part in work to mourn those who have passed away, so he does not seem to think of himself as being special just because he is royalty. When he has issued evacuation orders several times in the past, he has done so in the name of royalty. Even when he uses the name of royalty, it seems he does so only for the sake of those around him, and not for himself.
This is probably largely due to the teachings of his mother, who raised him as a commoner rather than royalty. Also, with so many women around, it would not be surprising if there were one or two who spoke ill of him, but I never hear any of that. Perhaps the "living a life of debauchery" wasn't a lie, as he is apparently very skilled at dealing with women. Thanks to that, his duties are going smoothly.
It seems that quite a few women have already confirmed that they are pregnant. Due to his military achievements, his usual attitude, and the aftermath of emergencies, his popularity is skyrocketing. Although his name has not been mentioned as a candidate for the throne, there are certainly many who say, "We want Eucharlouch to be the next king." He is much more popular than some of the young princes who are already considered as candidates.
Grandpa seems to have a lot of trust in him, and I think he is secretly happy about it, even though he can't give up the throne. There are all kinds of rumors flying around about him, though. I can only believe what I see with my own eyes. I don't want to believe anything other than what I see with my own eyes. So, I decided to observe his behavior for a while.
